F.A.Q.s

1.      How does the program work?

We offer families a way to receive multiple grants ranging up to $5000.00 each, based on need and funds available. After the first grant has been awarded, KKAM will notify you of additional grants up to $5000.00 each, depending on availability of funds. We ask families to join with us in helping to fund grants at KKAM by involving friends and families with a support letter. Donors receive a tax- deductible receipt.

2.      What if we raise more than $5000.00?

We grant out funds in $5000.00 increments. You may only raise up to the amount of your total adoption expenses. Any amount over, will go into our family fund to help out other KKAM families.

3.      What if we don’t even raise the $5000.00?

This is fine. The funds raised along with any additional grants available at the time of your date will be awarded to you.

4.      What do you mean by a fund raising date?

KKAM will set a date (usually 6 – 8 weeks) after you send out the support letters to notify you of your awarded grant.

5.      What if more donations come in after the set date?

KKAM will notify you with any additional grant amount.

6.      What happens to our granted funds if we don’t have a bill to pay right away?

KKAM will hold your file open until you do.

7.      Do we need to send in our donors list?

No – this if for your use only – and to let us know how many brochures you will need to send out with your support letter.

8.      What if we want to send thank you notes?

We will disclose the names of donors upon request after the set date.

9.      Does my homestudy need to be done before we can send out our support letters?

It is a very good idea to have it completed or very near done since you are asking for financial support. If something should fall through, KKAM will not refund any donations.
